Osvaldo (Homeopath)
Born and raised in Mexico, Osvaldo’s motto for healing is to ‘treat the person, not just the illnesses’. Healing should be ‘soft and gentle on the body, yet quick to bring relief, focusing on the entire body, and not just dividing it into different organs as conventional medicine so often does’.
Osvaldo has a genuine interest in people and their emotions, a passion for healing and Homeopathy. Homeopathy is all about healing the person wholistically; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This was always the reason why Osvaldo was inspired to be a doctor; to be able to treat the ‘whole’ person, not just parts. When he was studying psychiatry and practising in mental institutions it incensed him that rather than looking for the root of problems in patients, many practitioners chose to administer ‘band-aid’-like treatments like antidepressants and in some cases, electric shocks.
During his studies in Medicine and clinical experience in the hospital wards with countless number of patients, it became apparent to Osvaldo that for every physical illness or medical condition that each patient presented with was an underlying emotional factor. Whilst some were more deeply embedded than others, Osvaldo was able to observe that many of the physical symptoms that his patients were suffering from could be traced to a set of emotions, and yet rarely were they acknowledged, let alone, treated.
Perhaps it was the dismissal of the role that emotions play on illnesses, by so many practitioners that Osvaldo was inspired to steer his Bachelor of Medicine towards specialising in Homeopathy. Studying Homeopathy not only strengthened his belief that emotions contribute largely to people’s state of health, and that when ill, people would heal faster if the emotion was treated. But more importantly, the training provided him with the foundation and the tools necessary to be able to assist people with their healing.
Upon completing his degree in Medicine specialising in Homeopathy at the National School of Medicine in Mexico City, Osvaldo continued to study a further three years of postgraduate studies in Homeopathy at the Homeopathic Mexican foundation and then practicing at the National Homeopathic Hospital in Mexico. Osvaldo treats all illnesses and diseases, specialising in emotional conditions such as depression and anxiety, allergies, women’s health, chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and asthma, as well as nutritional counselling.
